Safety Committee

The Safety Committee is the first true combined committee of the Society and College of Clinical Perfusion Scientist. Its sphere of activity incorporates all issues relating to patient safety in clinical perfusion practice. The Committee responds to requests for opinions from members of both the Society and College, the biomedical device manufacturers and the various relevant medical colleges and associations. A close liaison is maintained with the relevant Department of Health agencies, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), and the British Respiratory Equipment Manufacturers Association (BAREMA).

It is our aim to initially provide a focal point for the reporting of perfusion safety related incidents and subsequently disseminate information in a timely manner to our membership to help provide a safe environment for the patients we treat.
