£40,428 to £ 48,514 per annum

The Lancashire Cardiac Centre is a purpose built Cardiothoracic Centre, which opened in 2005, within the grounds of Blackpool Victoria Hospital. The Cardiac multi-disciplinary team performs approximately 1200 adult cardiac procedures annually and the Perfusion team provides a wide range of services to cover these procedures.

We currently have an opportunity for a Seniorís position and are therefore looking for a suitably experienced, dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic individual wishing to join a department of eight Clinical Perfusion Scientists. Hours are 37.5hrs/wk flexible rota with on-call commitment. Trainee supervision will be expected.

You will join a busy department of experienced staff who currently deliver an excellent standard of service for Cardiopulmonary Bypass, Cell Salvage, Intra-Aortic Balloon Counter pulsation, Coagulation monitoring and occasional ECMO provision. Experience in the latter is desirable but not essential as training and the necessary assistance will be given. The department is a nationally accredited training unit.

The successful applicant will be expected to deliver a high standard of patient care and integrate completely with not only existing Perfusion team but also the wider theatre team. The department is involved in a number of new and progressive techniques including thruí port valve surgery, other minimally invasive procedures and optimised cardiopulmonary bypass. Associated research possibilities exist.

To be considered for this position you must be accredited by the Society of Clinical Perfusion Scientists and must hold full registration with the College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists. You must be committed to teamwork, have good communication skills and a responsible, well-organised approach to work. You should also be committed to professional development both as an individual and that of the group as a whole.
