Anne-Marie specialises in all areas of adult cardiac clinical perfusion which includes transplantation, ECMO (including ECMO retrievals), VADs, major aortic surgery and Pulmonary Endarterectomy (PEA) Surgery.  She particularly enjoys PEA surgery, having seen the programme grow for over 20 years.

Professional Profile

Anne-Marie began her perfusion career as a trainee at Royal Papworth Hospital in 2001, completing the Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement degree with Westminster College and the University of Middlesex in 2003.  She has been a qualified Clinical Perfusion Scientist since 2003 and has remained at Royal Papworth Hospital, where she enjoys the variety of work.  She has undertaken locum work outside of Royal Papworth, and has thus enjoyed both working with and learning from colleagues in other centres.  She has furthered her career by becoming a Senior Clinical Perfusion Scientist in 2009, and is the Intra-Aortic Balloon Lead for the department which involves training throughout the hospital.

Anne-Marie is also involved in training within the department, having mentored a number of trainees, and is a current mentor.  She is also the departmental College Tutor, and has been a College Assessor since 2017.
