HCU40 Failure

DETAILS OF INCIDENT

As the Getinge HCU40 heater cooler was being cleaned and started defrosting, a popping sound, sparks and the smell of burning coming from the base of the heater cooler. The power was turned off immediately, estates and the company contacted, Datix completed.

ACTION TAKEN

The vacuum valves were recently upgraded during service. Company will come reinstall the old valves (within a week) as the current vacuum valves are leaking onto the power board. This is a temporary measure until a better solution.
